K Leeder added to NECASA Hall of Fame
Ms Krista Leeder, one of our very own instructors was recently honored for the volunteer work she does... As written in the Necasa (Northeast Communities Against Substance Abuse) 2008 Recognition Awards Ceremony program. Brooklyn: Krista Leeder "Krista has worked multiple hours teaching karate classes and giving demonstrations for young students to develop their skills and self discipline. She is sensitive to the needs of others and adept at organizing members of her church to become involved in volunteer service projects - Locks of Love (hair donations) and food donations. She recently presented a program on drug/alcohol abuse awareness". Great job K Leeder, may we all follow in your footsteps, we are proud to have you as one of our black belt instructors... Hall of Fame
| |
On January 12, 2008 some masters from the Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Among those who received this honor was our Master Paula Saucier. She began her martial arts training in February 1988 and since then has attained the rank of Master Belt 5th Degree. Over the years she has done much in the federation, competed and won many awards, attended seminars and met many other martial artist in her travels. Among those that she has met are; Chuck Norris, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Jean Frenette (Canadian Champion), and Andrea Tippett (future Hall of Famer for the New England Patriots). She has been a major builder of AMAC over the years. She has helped to build all the programs that we now have in place, as well as has been and continues to be an inspiration to other women in the martial arts. Master Saucier competed in the federation tournaments against other master belts and won in weapons and forms competition. She was one of only two women who competed in this division against the men, the other woman who competed was her daughter Master Kaitlyn Saucier. While completing it was one of those two women who usually won first place. I would have to say we are very lucky indeed to have her as part of our school. Congratulations Master Paula Saucier on your huge accomplishment, I hope other women see what you have done and follow your example as to what a woman in the martial arts can do.

Student of the Year
| |
Every year the federation holds a banquet to honor all the competitors from the previous year. They also honor one student from the children's group and one from the adult group, from all the ranks in the federation, as "Student of the Year". This student is usually picked because of what they have done over the past year for the federation and for their school. This year the adult who was picked as student of the year for the entire federation, was Ms Krista Leeder. She does much for your school, not only teaching, but many things that keep the school going. Ms Leeder comes up with new ideas to help make things in the school a better place to learn martial arts, to build the school and to make our school one of the best schools there is. When Master Paula Saucier was teaching our students she was the one I turned to for help in coming up with ideas, now that Master Paula is working more in the school system she teaches at during the day, she doesn't get much time to teach at AMAC, enter Ms Krista Leeder, who has the necessary tools it takes to do what needs to be done. We at AMAC are fortunate to have someone like Ms Leeder to be there for us. Congratulations Ms Krista Leeder on your award.

At AMAC we have a site for photos of everything that happens to us... gradings, tournaments, demos, gatherings of every kind... all sorts of things happen in our lives... I would like you to add photos that you may want to share online with us... anyone who would like to download their photos on our site for all to see may do so, in fact we encourage it... We like to see what is going on in your world as a student of AMAC... If your are interested in downloading photos, see Mrs. Leeder or myself and we will gladly tell you how you can do this...
